With us, young people change their attitude to learning; we instill curiosity, empathy and pride.
About our impactAs part of the 2019 Festival, Lauren staged a one-woman adaptation of Much Ado About Nothing.
After a tough 2020, we want to be there for young people in 2021, helping them catch up and develop the life skills they need, the confidence they deserve and, crucially, have a little bit of fun along the way.
To support our work with young people in 2021, Coram Shakespeare Schools Foundation is again taking part in the Big Give Christmas Challenge. We want to raise £60,000 towards our Festival. Every online donation we receive during the campaign week will be doubled by generous match funding from the Reed Foundation and a small group of individual donors. With match funding, every donation will go twice as far in supporting young people with the greatest need and the most to gain to take part in Coram Shakespeare Schools Festival.
Many young people have acknowledged their mental health as one of the greatest challenges of lockdown and social distancing restrictions. We know that improving mental health and wellbeing is one of the major outcomes of CSSF’s programmes - it’s why our work is so important. The Festival gives young people the chance to work in a team towards a common goal, stay resilient in the face of complex language, conquer their stage fright under bright stage lights, and importantly, to get enjoyment out of learning.
Our innovative 2020 Festival, One Night of Shakespeare, would never have been possible without the generous support of Big Give donors last year. This campaign means so much to us and young people right across the country. Please support us during the Big Give Christmas Challenge week from midday on 1 December until midday on 8 December and support young people like Joe and teachers like Emma. We couldn’t do it without you.
