The world's largest youth drama festival

Youth theatre groups

The Shakespeare Schools Festival is inclusive, and adapts to any learning structure

Give your young actors a boost by showcasing their work in a professional theatre to a paying audience. We work with theatre practitioners and organisations to provide a rigorous process that gets Shakespearean language off the page and up on its feet. Your students will learn from Actors, Directors, Facilitators, Stage Managers and Arts Administrators - gaining experience in collaboration and professional stage production.

SSF provides youth theatre groups with:

  • A full day directing workshop for educators participating in the Festival. Gain fresh perspectives on stagecraft, and network with other practitioners from your local area.
  • access to the bank of drama exercises and resources on our website, developed by our world-class practitioners in conjunction with theatre organisations such as Forced Entertainment, SpyMonkey, the RSC, and the NYT
  • creative and logistical support from your regional Coordinator
  • the opportunity to take your students out of the studio and showcase their hard work on a professional stage, with lights, sound and a paying audience
  • resources to help your students experience production management, including stage managing, light and sound design and marketing
  • the chance for your students to work with local school groups
  • a chance to promote your drama school, increasing local awareness of the extra-curricular drama opportunities you provide, and raising the profile of theatre in your community.
