Youth Board

1) This Youth Board is governed by Coram Shakespeare Schools Foundation (Registered Charity No. 1164676), part of the group of charities of The Thomas Coram Foundation for Children, known today- and hereafter referred to- as ‘Coram’ (Registered Charity No. 312278).

2) Our Youth Board is open to young people aged between 13-16 years old on 1st September 2023.

3) Applications must be the original work of the applicant and must be no longer than: 300 words in length (written submissions) or 180 seconds in length (performance submissions). Entries must be submitted via the Youth Board submission form on the CSSF website. We can only receive entries in the following file formats: pdf, doc, docx, xls, xlsx, csv, txt, rtf, html, zip, mp3, wma, mpg, flv, avi, jpg, jpeg, png, gif, mp4, mpeg4, mov

4) Applicants must enter individually.

5) Applicants must provide details of a parent, guardian or carer we can bcc into all correspondence.

6) Applications can be submitted in one of the following languages:

English Cymraeg Gàidhlig Gaeilge British Sign Language (BSL)

7) Coram SSF is committed to safeguarding the welfare of children and young people and adheres to the Coram Group Safeguarding Policy & Procedures. To read this full policy, click here. The personal data provided to us will be used for the purposes of administering the competition and in accordance with Coram’s Data Protection Policy.

8) Personal information will be stored until 31 July 2028. After this date, personal information will be deleted and submissions will be kept anonymously (with the age of the young person at the time of submission) for as long as there is a business need. The submissions will be stored electronically by Coram SSF. Coram SSF’s Privacy Policy can be found here.

9) Coram SSF is committed to complying with the UK General Data Protection Regulations (“UK GDPR”) and to upholding principles of good practice of storage and handling of data. Coram SSF will only use the information that it collects about data subject in accordance with UK GDPR and the Privacy & Electronic Communications Regulations 2003.

10) Coram SSF does not collect children’s data to directly market to children.

11) We will ensure that any adult staff or volunteer involved in the management of the Youth Board holds an active enhanced disclosure check from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS), which deems them suitable to work with children. They will also be required to agree to the terms of the Coram SSF Safeguarding Code of Behaviour and Procedures.

12) Applications must not contain any offensive, obscene, defamatory or any other unsuitable material.

13) Coram SSF reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions, if deemed necessary in its opinion, or if circumstances arise outside of its control. Coram SSF will notify all applicants of any changes to these Terms and Conditions, or cancellation as soon as is practicable.

14) Applications will be assessed in line with the criteria of the Youth Board, and our core values.

15) Applications will be open from Tuesday 13th June, 12pm, until Tuesday 15th August,12pm.

16) Applicants will hear from us no later than 5pm on Friday 29th September.

17) These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
