Our flagship project is the Festival - the world’s largest youth drama festival.
About our impact“I learned about making Shakespeare relevant and accessible to young people in today's world. The things I have learned have informed my day to day teaching and have become an integral part of our curriculum, raising standards and achievement immeasurably.” SEND school teacher, Wirral
Want to be inspired?
For over 15 years Coram SSF has been empowering teachers to bring Shakespeare to their students in an engaging and accessible way. Our CPD for teachers uses our rehearsal room ethos to support teaching in Literacy, English and Drama, as well as teachers’ own professional development.
For primary teachers
This workshop focuses on bringing the story to life, engaging pupils with the characters and playing with the richness of Shakespeare’s language. We will look at how to embed the exercises in a scheme of work to create an inspiring classroom environment.
For secondary teachers
We will focus on exploring complex characters, giving students ownership of Shakespeare’s language, and contextualising the themes for the 21st century. For English teachers, we will look at how exercises can be used to support the KS3 curriculum or KS4/5 Assessment Objectives.
